NEXT ALBUMS "TO BARNEY WILEN Vol.1 and Vol.2"
After a tribute to Illinois Jacquet and the "Texas Tenors" in 2013 ("Flying Home" / BBR C1316), it is to Barney Wilen that Jean-Michel Proust dedicates these two albums this time. Barney celebrated here for his open-mindedness, his taste for eclecticism in his choice of themes, his elegance of phrasing, his unique way of exposing themes, of creating atmospheres, of provoking emotions. Through this dedication, Jean-Michel thinks of the different influences that formed him, from Chet Baker to Paul Desmond, from Jimmy Giuffre to Sonny Rollins, from Gerry Mulligan to all those who, one day or another, have been accompanied by guitarist Jim Hall. The place of the guitar being central here.
