PRESENTASJON AV EVA MARGOTS VERK

I – PAINTINGS

Ranging from a delicate sometimes childish lyricism to a brutal tragic, and passing from an expressive symbolism to unusual or abstract perspectives, Eva Margot's paintings catch our eye and speak to us. His painting, of traditional invoice, its strong colors and its rich light, fully expresses what inhabits it. Self-taught, sensual and intuitive above all, Eva Margot speaks to the heart. Thus, sensitive and attentive to those around her from childhood and later to the events of her time, if Eva Margot often staged men and women, their reciprocal relationships and the relationship with nature, she always took great care, down to the smallest details, on the aesthetic side of each painting, perhaps the most interesting side of his work.

II – DRAWINGS

"I only think in termls of colors, but I think I draw better than I paint," Eva Margot said to a journalist who came to interview her for her first solo exhibition in March 1979. I don't know what she would have said about it thirty or forty years later, but drawing: she actually knew it. As for style, we could roughly put them in the same categories as paintings. The figurative dominates almost everywhere, while the intuitive and the "magic" seem to prevail over realism.
